This mount can be used for mounting GPS units, XM or Sirius Satellite Radios, iPod cradles, or even a cellular phone cradle.  The idea behind the InDash mounts is the user can install this mount in vehicles without drilling holes into the dash or interior.  The engineers at Panavise have been very careful to ensure that the vehicle's ergonomics are not compromised and the occupant's safety remains in check with regard to the airbag's deployment.  The InDash mount is also a very good solution to leased vehicles because you can remove the mount after the term, and there is absolutely no evidence that the mount was ever installed.
